Our Origin

Why We Started

In 2012, our founder Ramesh Kumar was distributing food to flood-affected families in Bihar when he met a 9-year-old girl named Kavya. She had walked 12 kilometers to reach the relief camp, alone. Her parents had been washed away. She carried only a school bag.

That image never left him. Within weeks, he had registered Manav Mitra Seva Charitable with a small team of 6 volunteers, a rented room, and ₹40,000 in savings. The mission was simple: make sure no child suffers alone.

Today, we are a 1,200-volunteer organisation working across 48 districts in 7 states, running programs in education, food security, healthcare, and women's empowerment. Kavya is now 21 and works with us as a community coordinator.

2012 — Founded
Manav Mitra Seva Charitable registered with 6 volunteers and ₹40,000 seed fund. First food distribution camp in Bihar.
2014 — Education Wing
Launched 3 learning centers serving 200+ children in underserved villages. School kits program begins.
2016 — 80G Certification
Received 80G and 12A certification. Expanded to 5 states. Launched women's skill development program.
2019 — Medical Wing
Free health camps initiated. Over 5,000 patients served in first year. Partnered with 12 hospitals.
2020 — COVID Response
Distributed 80,000 meals during lockdown. Supported 3,500+ migrant worker families.
2024 — Today
1,200+ volunteers. 48 districts. 10,000+ lives helped. Still growing, still serving.

Founder's Message

A Note from
Our Founder

"Poverty is not destiny. It is a circumstance — and circumstances can change with the right support."

When I started this organisation, people thought I was being naive. How could a handful of volunteers make a dent in a problem as vast as poverty? But I had seen something that changed me — a child's resilience in the face of complete hopelessness.

Today, twelve years later, I see that same resilience in the communities we serve. They don't want pity. They want opportunity. They want to be seen and treated with dignity. That's what we try to offer — not charity, but solidarity.

Every person who donates, volunteers, or shares our story becomes part of this movement. You make the work possible. And together, we are proving that a more compassionate world is not just possible — it is being built, every single day.
